DetoxSage Privacy Policy

DetoxSage (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a privacy-first digital wellbeing coaching app for Android. This Privacy Policy explains how the DetoxSage mobile application (“App”) handles information.

Summary

Your coaching data stays on your phone. We do not operate servers that store your screen time, journey, or notes.
No account required. We do not ask you to sign in.
Optional telemetry (crash reports + anonymous product events like “subscribe tapped”) is off by default.
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play; we do not receive your payment card details.

Data on your device (not uploaded)

When you use DetoxSage, the App stores the following locally in an encrypted database on your phone:

Friction notes and YouTube session intent tags	Optional context you record
Subscription access state	Whether your trial or subscription is active

We do not upload this data to our servers. Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes it. A future update may let you export this data to a file on your device.

Optional telemetry (opt-in)

If you enable Help improve DetoxSage in You → Privacy:

Firebase Analytics (Google)	Anonymous product events (e.g. paywall viewed, plan selected, subscribe tapped, onboarding completed)

These events do not include your screen time, app names, friction notes, or other coaching content.

Google’s use of data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

If you leave this toggle off, no Analytics or Crashlytics data is collected.

Permissions

Accessibility service	Detect when a watched app opens for coaching step-ins. We read which app is in the foreground (package name only) — not screen text, passwords, or messages (`canRetrieveWindowContent` is disabled). Data stays on your phone.

Internet	Google Play subscriptions and optional telemetry
Display over other apps	Opens your phone maker’s background pop-up setting on some devices (MIUI, ColorOS) so step-in screens can appear — DetoxSage does not draw floating overlays over other apps

No package-level logging in release builds

Children

DetoxSage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

Keep telemetry off — default; or toggle in You → Privacy
Revoke permissions — Android Settings
Cancel subscription — Google Play → Subscriptions
Delete coaching data — uninstall the App or clear storage in Android Settings (step-by-step)

Changes

We may update this policy when the App changes. We will post the new version at the same URL and update the “Last updated” date.
